Welcome to Panama! Upon arrival, we’ll be met at the airport and transferred to our hotel.
We’ll begin our journey with an insider’s introduction to Panama’s remarkable Jewish community, visiting synagogues, schools, and community institutions and meeting some of the people who make this one of the most vibrant Jewish communities in the Diaspora.
This evening, we’ll enjoy our first taste of Panama’s outstanding kosher culinary scene with a special welcome dinner at Adama Restaurant.
After an early breakfast, we’ll fly from Panama City to David and continue into the beautiful Chiriquí Highlands and the mountain town of Boquete.
After discovering the town of Boquete, we’ll visit a coffee estate for an immersive experience exploring the journey from coffee cultivation and processing to the finished cup, culminating in a guided tasting.
Tonight, we’ll enjoy a special barbecue dinner surrounded by the beauty of the highlands.
Today we venture into Boquete’s spectacular cloud forest for a Tree Trek experience, walking through the lush mountain landscape and across its famous hanging bridges.
In the afternoon, we’ll discover another side of this extraordinarily fertile region with a fascinating bee and butterfly experience, including a butterfly house and laboratory and a tasting of Panamanian honeys and medicinal infusions.
We’ll finish our day with a delicious dairy dinner (Pizza, pasta and fish).
We’ll set out before dawn aboard 4x4 vehicles for an unforgettable journey up Volcán Barú, the highest point in Panama, arriving in time to experience sunrise from the mountain.
After breakfast on the go, we’ll continue to the hot springs for time to relax before lunch. Later this afternoon, we’ll travel to David for our flight back to Panama City, followed by dinner at Olivetta, one of the city’s excellent kosher restaurants.
This morning we’ll cruise through the lush Gamboa rainforest, searching for the wildlife that inhabits this extraordinary tropical environment, followed by a visit to the sloth sanctuary.
After lunch, we’ll experience one of the great engineering wonders of the world—the Panama Canal—at the Miraflores Visitor Center, including its impressive IMAX presentation. We’ll finish our touring with a scenic drive along the Amador Causeway before returning to prepare for Shabbat.
Tonight, we’ll welcome Shabbat together with a beautiful Shabbat dinner.
We’ll experience a wonderful Shabbat together in the heart of Panama’s thriving Jewish community, with tefillah, a leisurely Shabbat lunch and plenty of time to relax and enjoy the company of our fellow travelers.
After Shabbat, we’ll head out together to La Spezia, for another evening enjoying Panama City’s exceptional kosher dining scene.
Today we journey into another world. We’ll travel toward the Chagres River and continue by traditional canoe to visit an Emberá indigenous community.
During our visit, we’ll experience the traditions and daily life of the Emberá through music, dance and artisan crafts, with time to interact with members of the community and learn about their culture firsthand. We’ll enjoy lunch as part of the experience before returning to Panama City for dinner at Aroma Restaurant.
After breakfast and checkout, we’ll spend our final morning exploring Casco Viejo, Panama City’s atmospheric historic quarter, with its beautiful plazas, colonial architecture and fascinating layers of history.
We’ll cap off our Panama experience with a special hosted lunch at Lula Restaurant, before transferring to the airport for our flights home—taking with us memories of a Panama that few visitors ever get to experience.
