Antarctica

On the MS Island Sky

December 28, 2026-January 7, 2027

The Ultimate Expedition

11 days, 10 nights

Antarctica is a destination that, quite simply, defies the imagination. This remote polar region comprises beautiful, untouched icescapes and captivating wildlife. Prepare yourself for an Expedition Voyage that will take your breath away at every turn. This 11-day polar expedition to Antarctica is filled with awe-inspiring glacial landscapes, unbridled adventure and wildlife that will capture your heart, from humpback whales to colonies of waddling penguins.  Our all-inclusive, all-kosher cruise provides our guests with once-in-a-lifetime encounters, and unforgettable memories.

THE Journey

Even today, after many decades of exploration, Antarctica remains a world apart, a majestic last frontier surpassing even the most jaded of travelers’ expectations. Join us aboard the MS Island Sky and follow in the footsteps of researchers, pioneers, adventurers and discoverers on this all-kosher expedition cruise to the seventh continent.

It is hard to put into words the sheer grandeur of an Antarctic landscape. This most southern of continents, this desert of ice is so unique and uncommon to man’s experience that even the most dramatic of photographs pale into insignificance when one is confronted by the sheer magnitude, beauty and wonder of an Antarctic landscape. Enormous icebergs rise from the sea, hillsides are covered with thousands of penguins, and seals basking on icebergs dot the channels and straits through which we will sail. The sights, sounds and emotions will stay with you forever.

For most travelers, the Antarctic experience is a once in a lifetime visit, and so it is important that the trip should be as rewarding as possible. The 100-passenger MS Island Sky with KRC Expeditions is the perfect vessel, both in terms of the educational experience on board and the number and quality of opportunities ashore. Antarctica is to be experienced and not only to merely be seen, and we believe the best way to do this is on board a small ship. Our in-depth itinerary allows for eleven days of exploration on the Peninsula and has been timed for late summer, when whale sightings are at their peak, the penguin chicks begin to fledge and brave their first swim, and the snow algae is in bloom. In between our landings and while at sea, you can pass the time on deck looking for wildlife, attend the series of lectures by members of the expedition team or simply relax on board while enjoying the facilities.

Kosher River Cruises

Kosher River Cruises is a great company that has been running high-end cruises for many years. They offer spectacular interactive travel experiences, insightful Jewish history and heritage programming, delicious Glatt kosher cuisine, and first-class service every step of the way. We are very pleased that we will be bringing our groups to be part of these trips.

THE ship

The MS Island Sky: The 100-passenger, all-suite vessel is one of the finest small ships in the world and benefits from unusually spacious accommodation, public areas, and outside decks. You will find the atmosphere on board akin to a private yacht or country hotel with a little music in the lounge or bar after dinner, talks from our onboard team, and informative port briefings from your Cruise Director or Expedition Leader. After a day of exploration ashore, you will return to the comfort and peace of a well-run and exceedingly comfortable ship. Along with the Captain and officers and the Noble Caledonia crew of 75 plus the KRC Expedition team, are dedicated to offering you the best possible experience during your time on board. The voyage on the Island Sky proudly continues our traditions of exceptional, personalized expedition experiences as an all-kosher, Jewish community exploring together some of the world’s most unique, pristine, and remote destinations.

THE Group Leaders

David and Adina Lebor will lead our tour with over two decades of experience leading Jewish groups all over the world.

We will have local guides and naturalists on the ship, who are experts in their field.

We cruise between the South Shetland Islands and the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, sailing along ice-filled fjords among spectacular icebergs, njoying the company of seabirds, penguins, seals, and whales. Each day, we disembark by Zodiac boat to explore the landscape together with expert polar guides. On board the ship we’ll enjoy spectacular vistas from the glass-enclosed lounge while sharing our daily adventures with fellow guests. No two journeys are ever the same, as flexibility is the key to success in Antarctica. The Expedition Team sets the voyage route in order to take advantage of the ever-changing opportunities provided by nature, crafting a unique and extraordinary experience each time. While the exact itinerary varies with each expedition, you can explore several spots that offer the best possible overview of the varied Antarctic en vironment. Your Antarctic cruise may include visits to sites such as Paulet Island, Hope Bay, Port Lockroy, Petermann Island, Paradise Bay, Deception Island, the Lemaire Channel, or many other magnificent places. Your polar adventure is very fluid and active, with several daily landings and cruises in Zodiac boats, lectures and an altogether enjoyable time on board. *Our magical Antarctic Shabbat together will take place as we are docked within view of magical icebergs and ice shelves teaming with wildlife. They can be viewed up close with incredible detail from your cabin balcony and ship’s observation decks.

Antarctica

Antarctica is to be experienced, not just to be seen, and we believe the only way to do this is on board a small ship so as to maximize the time spent ashore. Enjoying the wonders of this icy paradise in the company of a small and enthusiastic party is the perfect way to benefit from a visit to this extraordinary place. Travelling with you on board will be polar expedition experts and naturalists with many years of experience in Antarctica; they will add immeasurably to your experience. While there are ships in Antarctica carrying higher numbers of passengers beyond the 100 guests on board the MS Island Sky, due to the restrictions placed on vessels, limiting the number of passengers allowed to land at any one time, the larger vessels can offer only very restricted landings. The MS Island Sky, however, can follow the strict Antarctic rules and yet have all guests ashore at the same time.
