What makes the Lebors so special? The word לב- heart- is contained in the name Lebor-ליבור- everything the Lebors did to ensure the success of this trip and to make us all happy was done בלב שלם- with a full heart. We decided to take (a different tour with a different company) this past summer. The only problem was it couldn’t compare to a Lebor program. We found ourselves comparing the way it was run to your program. Hands down Lebor wins.

Lebor Tours trip to Iceland this summer was absolutely amazing! David and Adina are experienced, passionate, energetic tour guides, who love to share their passion of enjoying Hashem’s world with others. Icelands’s numerous landscapes and sights- from waterfalls, geysers, mudpots, lagoons, fjords, rock formations, coastlines, and mountains, were all beyond description. The delicious, abundant, generous food that was served every day would satisfy any type of eater and was beyond delicious! All of us on the tour became one, with a real sense of camaraderie. Some of the attendees sharing their life experiences with us was one of the highlights of Shabbos. David and Adina are organized, enthusiastic, tour guides, who know what it takes to make a successful tour! It will take a long time for us to come down from this incredible high experience!

THE ITINERARY

Suggested Flights
To Auckland, Return from Sydney

From New York

To ensure a smooth and halachically comfortable journey in line with the cruise schedule and time differences, we recommend the following:

  • Outbound (New York → Auckland):
The cruise departs on Sunday, and due to the time difference, it is not possible to leave New York after Shabbat and arrive in time. Therefore, you must depart before Shabbat, and we recommend leaving on Wednesday. The suggested option is Qantas Airways Flight QF4, departing JFK at 4:10 PM and arriving in Auckland at 3:50 AM on Friday. This ensures arrival well before Shabbat and avoids any concern of delays close to Shabbat.
  • Return (Sydney → New York):
The cruise ends on Sunday, and the most practical option is Qantas Airways Flight QF7, departing Sydney at 1:05 PM, with a connection in Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (2 hours and 15 minutes layover). The onward flight, American Airlines Flight 3284, departs at 1:44 PM and arrives at LaGuardia at 5:59 PM, providing the most efficient and reliable return itinerary.

Day 1 - Sunday, January 17
Auckland, New Zealand

A New Zealand cruise to Auckland takes you to a vibrant waterfront city where world-class dining, shopping, and outdoor adventure await. Explore trendy neighborhoods like Ponsonby and Newmarket, take a harbor cruise, or kayak past the skyline. Ship departs at 5:00 PM

Geothermal Wonders and Māori Culture

This morning, we dock in the charming port city of Tauranga and set off for a full-day tour of Rotorua – a city famous for its geothermal activity and rich Māori heritage.

We’ll visit Te Puia, a unique combination of a geothermal park and a cultural center, where bubbling mud pools, steaming hot springs, and erupting geysers – including the famous Pohutu Geyser – create a surreal natural setting.

The site is also home to New Zealand’s Māori Arts and Crafts Institute, where skilled artists preserve traditional Māori carving and weaving techniques. We’ll witness their craft firsthand and gain insight into Māori traditions, values, and daily life.

Our journey continues to Waimangu Volcanic Valley, a remarkable geothermal ecosystem featuring hot streams, crater lakes, and ancient fern forests. After this awe-inspiring day, we return to the ship for dinner and relaxation.

Today we will sail through several of the most beautiful fjords in New Zealand and in the world. Along the way, we may see marine wildlife and dramatic, untouched landscapes with magnificent waterfalls.

The cliffs and deep fjords allow cruise ships to sail just meters from the surrounding cliffs. At times, you may even feel the mist from the powerful waterfalls cascading into the sea.

We will enjoy the breathtaking scenery of cliffs fading into the mist as we continue sailing through the pristine Fiordland region.

Day 9 - Monday, January 25

Hobart, Tasmania

Tasmania is an island state of Australia located about 240 km south of the Australian mainland, separated by the Bass Strait. It is the 26th largest island in the world and covers an area of 68,401 square kilometers. Tasmania is known for its spectacular landscapes, rugged mountains, dense forests, and beautiful beaches.

We will dock in Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, founded in 1804 as a penal colony and rich in colonial history.

We will walk through the Tasmanian rainforest to view the magnificent Russell Falls. Later, we will continue to the picturesque Coal River Valley and visit Richmond, one of Tasmania’s most charming villages.
